Amir on "Zahra's Paradise"

In the days after Iran's 2009 election, thousands of pro-democracy demonstrators filled the streets.  The government cracked down, and many of those protestors disappeared into Iran's prisons and into unmarked graves.   The graphic novel Zahra's Paradise weaves fiction together with real events and people.  The author and illustrator remain anonymous for political reasons.
