America has a thing for Japanese culture. And since the U.S. and its allies occupied Japan after WWII, some Japanese have had a thing for American culture, music in particular.

Twenty-five years ago, I heard a variety of fascinating recordings which were brought back from Japan by a tourist who could not translate the labels. What recordings and artists could I access from here?
