Michael Cunningham won the Pulitzer Prize for his novel “The Hours,” which re-imagined the life and death of Virginia Woolf. His new novel is called “Specimen Days” and involves Walt Whitman. Cunningham tells Jim Fleming why he took on another literary figure.
