If you’re a regular listener of our show, then you’ve probably heard my mom’s voice at least three times on the program. First, when I asked her if she liked my outfits. Second was her screaming "Happy New Year!" at the top of her lungs and playing mahjong. Third was when we gabbed about how much she loves BTS. It’s kind of funny to turn on the car radio and hear her voice.
This week, in "For the Love of Moms," we’re sharing stories from our archives about motherhood that go beyond the typical Hallmark Mother’s Day greeting card. We hear from moms who have faced poverty, moms who embrace their collective power, moms who’ve experienced loss and joy, good moms and bad moms.
There are only so many mother stories we can fit into an hour when mothering is a never ending project. So let this episode be a reminder to call your mother, or mothers call your kids. Share your mother stories together. With permission, maybe record it too. It could make for some great memories and great radio someday. Let’s hear it for the moms.
