I can’t stop thinking about a talk I heard Tristan Harris give recently about technology, design and neuroscience. Harris used to be a product manager at Google – he was the company’s “design ethicist” for three years—and he’s actively imagining the next generation of tech. “Humane technology” is his umbrella term for devices and software designed to help us thrive – mentally, physically and spiritually. After reading a barrage of “the internet has stolen your brain and eaten your children alive” stories, it’s incredibly refreshing to know there are people who don’t just know we have a problem — they have some idea of how to fix it.
