In a confluence of book worlds, when I asked author David Maraniss to tell us a story about a book encounter he can’t forget, he chose Richard Powers’ "The Overstory." Steve Paulson interviews Powers in this week’s revisiting of a favorite TTBOOK show, "The Secret Language of Trees."
For years we’ve been asking authors for what we call "Bookmarks." And now we’re sharing them with you. It might be a few seasons in before you hear that one, but we’ve launched Bookmarks as a micro podcast, a few minutes of lovely, lively talk about books by authors. New episodes will air each week, starting with Tommy Orange on "Confederacy of Dunces."
More next week, with a special hour on Books We Can’t Forget. But for now, please subscribe wherever you get your podcasts (here’s the link to Bookmarks on iTunes). Listen, share, and let us know what you think at listen@ttbook.org.
