Marilyn Pittman

Marilyn Pittman is an award-winning actor, playwright, journalist, narrator, and comedian. Her broadcast career includes stints as a news anchor, reporter, producer, and talk show host.  

She is the host and producer of the weekly LGBT radio interview show, "Out In The Bay," on NPR station KALW in San Francisco. In the fall of 2012, the National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association awarded the show their “Excellence in Journalism” award. She is the leading voice coach and talent consultant for NPR and NPR stations nationally.  She is a guest lecturer on performance at UC Berkeley’s Journalism School and The Knight Digital Media Center there. 

Her solo show, "It's All The Rage" won Best One-Woman Show at United Solo, the world’s largest solo performance festival, in November, 2011, in New York City.  The show went on to an extended 3-month run in the spring of 2012 at The Marsh in San Francisco where it was developed. The play is being produced in LA in April, 2013. 

She is a frequent storyteller on the spoken word circuit including San Francisco’s Previously Secret Information, Fireside Storytelling, True Stories Lounge. 

She made her comedy name in San Francisco during the AIDS crisis of the early 90’s in San Francisco, winning a G.L.A.A.D. Award.
