The subject of guilty pleasures came up in a recent staff meeting and we each confessed to a few: reality TV (Haleema); professional wrestling (Steve); romance novels and chardonnay (me). We looked at each other a little uneasily, waiting to be judged. And then we started thinking about guilt. And shame. And sin. We wondered whether our secular culture fosters more or less guilt, and whether “self-help” encourages self-criticism. We wondered whether people who are literally guilty – say, of a crime – also feel guilty, and whether that matters. And then we took all our questions and turned them into a show, which airs this week. Let us know if you can relate.
