
Greg Kot is an American writer and journalist. Since 1990, Kot has been the music critic at the Chicago Tribune, where he has covered popular music and reported on music-related social, political and business issues. Kot cohosts Sound Opinions which claims in its intro to be "the world's only rock 'n' roll talk show," nationally syndicated through its home base at Chicago Public Radio, WBEZ-FM 91.5.
Kot’s books include Wilco: Learning How to Die, Ripped: How the Wired Generation Revolutionized Music, and the forthcoming I’ll Take You There: Mavis Staples, the Staple Singers and the March up Freedom’s Highway. He also coauthored The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones: Sound Opinions on the Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Rivalry with his Sound Opinions cohost Jim DeRogatis
