Ilse Blansert

I was around 5 or 6 years old when I experienced 'tingles' for the first time. At elementary school other kids would whisper in my ear sometimes or they would whisper to eachother. You also had this little game where a kid would draw a letter on your back with their finger and you had to guess what it was. Those experiences gave me a lot of tingles and sometimes i would even zone out completely.

From the age of 4 till my 16th birthday, I lived with my dad and when he played the cd of Inia or nature music I got very relaxed and peaceful. We visited my grandparents almost every weekend until I was 12 years old and when we played with wooden blocks or dominoes I experienced these 'tingles' as well. I also had to watch Bob Ross every Sundays with my grandparents because his voice and the brushes on the canvas made my entire body very tingly!

In high school, I even failed listening tests (especially German and French ones) because I would zone out completely and I had no clue what was going on. Others around me didn't experience that relaxing feeling so i always had the feeling i was the only one in the entire world who got these tingles. During my high school days, I started looking for 'relaxing voices' on the internet and it took me years to discover what this amazing feeling was!

Finally, somewhere around February 2011 I discovered the ASMR/whisper community on YouTube. All of a sudden everything came together and I knew from that moment on I was a person who already experienced ASMR my entire life and that i wasn't alone anymore!

"The best thing that ever happened to me and it changed my life completely!!!"

I started my own YouTube channel on the 8th of February 2012 called TheWaterwhispers and it garnered a lot of attention in such a short time. My intention was to simply give it a go and I never thought that so many people would like my work! After I became partners for ASMR radio and International ASMR day, I decided to start a second channel called IlseTheWaterdrops to serve as my blog and speak my mind. I also have a third channel called Touching Tingles especially dedicated to sounds videos. I love making videos and eventhough i don't experience ASMR while making videos it still makes me relaxed.
