
Julian E. Zelizer is Professor of History and Public Affairs at Princeton University. Zelizer, received his B.A. at Brandeis University and Ph.D. at The Johns Hopkins University. He is one of the leading figures in the field of American political history and a well known public intellectual. Professor Zelizer is the author and editor of numerous books that examine U.S. political leaders, policies, and institutions since the New Deal. His most recent book books are Jimmy Carter (Times Books, 2010), Conservatives in Power: The Reagan Years, 1981-1989, co-author with Meg Jacobs (Bedford Books, 2010), Arsenal of Democracy: The Politics of National Security - From World War II to the War on Terrorism (Basic Books, 2010) and The Presidency of George W. Bush: A First Historical Assessment (Princeton University Press, 2010). Next year Princeton University Press will publish his newest book, Governing America: Essays in Political History. Professor Zelizer is a well-known commentator in the national and international television, radio, and print media. He writes a weekly column for CNN.Com. He was featured on a show by the History Channel, Great Moments on the Campaign Trail, which was awarded an Emmy in 2008. Zelizer, who has published over 200 op-eds. He has also published in Newsweek, Politico, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, Salon, The Huffington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe and The American Prospect.
