I’m a writer, cultural critic, academic and psychoanalyst with a special interest in psychological readings of twentieth century literature, film and culture. I live in the old Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore, with my partner and our French bulldog. I’m currently a Professor in the Department of Humanistic Studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art. I write regularly for the Chronicle of Higher Education, the Fortean Times, Baltimore Style, and Baltimore Fishbowl.
