How Do You Parent Differently Now?

I was just talking with a friend about trying not to overcommit, as adults and parents. About saying no to some things to be able to say yes to others. One of the true silver linings of the pandemic was that we slowed down, spent time carefully, and didn’t rush around to dozens of activities every week.

We would learn from this, right? But school, sports practices, volunteering, jobs, standardized tests are all back again. And of course, in many ways that’s wonderful. But what did we learn about parenting in the pandemic? Could we take these lessons and help build a better society with our children? This week we revisit our show "A Parenting Revolution" that asks these questions. And continuing that theme, we are working on a show on motherhood for Mother’s Day weekend.

We’d love to hear from you, too, at listen@ttbook.org if you have thoughts about what you’ve learned about being a parent, or caregiver over the past few years. Do you parent differently, and how?
