The crash virtually cut the van in half, killing Barbara Davis’ husband and their nanny. It almost killed Barbara too. She was sent flying over four lanes of traffic.Police estimated that Hubacek had been driving nearly 100 miles per hour, and his blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit.
