On Witch Time

It’s witchy season, and as a Libra with an October birthday, always one of my favorite times of the year. But for some people, it’s always witch time. It’s the theme of this weekend’s show, “Generation Witch,” where we delve into magic and mysticism throughout the ages. We’ve always had witches in our society, and we probably always will.

You’ll hear Anne talking with Rivka Galchen about her novel set in 17th century Germany, “Everyone Knows Your Mother is a Witch.” Steve dives down many supernatural rabbit holes with Chris Gosden, who has written a definitive history of magic. I had a great time talking with fellow Gen Xer Quan Barry about the 1980s teenagers she writes about in “We Ride Upon Sticks.” And Angelo brings us into present moment, introducing us to the super-connected coven of WitchTok.

I hope you have a extraordinary Halloween, whether you celebrate with horror movies, or spooky stories, eating Kit Kats or maybe even practicing your own magic.
