Dalal Abu Amneh is a Palestinian singer and also a neuroscientist. She says music has a special capacity to heal because it transcends language and engages the entire brain. It also has the power to bring people together in the midst of political conflicts. And that’s saying a lot, considering her own experience. When the war in Gaza broke out, she was subject to death threats and nightly protests outside her house in Israel.
